A Legacy of Care

For nearly seventy years, Ross Funerals has been part of the Fraser Coast’s story — standing beside families in moments of loss, remembrance, and reflection. Our journey is one of dedication, compassion, and community connection, built on the belief that every life deserves to be honoured with dignity and respect.

Our Heritage

Ross Funerals was founded in 1955 by Leslie and Mavis Ross, who began with a simple yet powerful vision: to care for their community with dignity, respect, and compassion during life’s most difficult moments. Their funeral home on Adelaide Street in Maryborough, where we continue to operate today, quickly became a trusted place of support and service

In the early 1990s, local funeral directors David and John Kronk expanded on that legacy by establishing a presence in Pialba to better serve the growing Hervey Bay community. Their commitment to accessible, high-quality funeral care led to the opening of the Fraser Coast Crematorium and Bayside Memorial Gardens in 1996, followed by the addition of a dedicated funeral chapel in Russell Street, Maryborough in 2013.

Our Future

Over the decades, much has evolved — our services, our facilities, and the way we celebrate life. But our core purpose remains unchanged: to walk alongside families with genuine care and professionalism, providing meaningful, personalised funerals that reflect every unique story.

Today, as leaders in funeral care on the Fraser Coast, Ross Funerals proudly blends tradition with innovation. We honour our rich heritage while embracing the future through thoughtful use of technology, environmentally conscious practices, and a commitment to aftercare. Our mission is to ensure every farewell not only reflects a life well lived but also provides space for grief, memory, and healing. Because at Ross Funerals, we believe everyone has a story — and every story deserves to be honoured.
